ispyeyes contact lens review

So recently I have been watching a lot of makeup tutorials on youtube and a lot of the girls are wearing contact lenses, and I thought it would be fun to try wearing them.

In the past I’ve never really been interested in wearing them, but lately, I’ve been obsessed. I think that they make makeup looks so much better and I love all of the different colours that you can get.

One of the main inspirations for contact lenses is Huda Kattan.

I love how the contact lenses make her makeup stand out and draw your attention to her eyes.

She wears contacts a lot in her Youtube videos and when she is modelling her own brand makeup.

Wearing some thick wispy lashes also helps make the contacts stand out, and I especially like the grey and green contacts that she wears.

One of the main problems for me was finding the right place to buy them because my eyes are quite sensitive anyways so I wanted to buy contact lenses that were safe to use.

I remembered the Marnie Simpson from Geordie Shore had her own business selling coloured contact lenses, so I thought I’d have a look.

She has a huge range of colours to choose from, even Halloween lenses.

Looking through the gallery on the website I was drawn to the grey lenses so I picked the Mrs Grey contacts.

This is what they looked like on the website with Marnie modelling them.

I was completely in love with the colour so I decided to pick these lenses and they last for 2 months!

Marnie said “You’ll love Mrs Grey! These are a mid grey colour. They’re not too dark or light and can give your eyes an instant makeover. Again even though they’re natural these will work well for a night out. This is turning into one of my new favourites!”

I also had to buy the eyewear kit, because I needed the solution as well as the case, and then I bought the lens applicator kit as well.

So it all came to around £30 because I had to pay shipping.

It took a few days to arrive, and I was very happy when it arrived.

The lenses came in a small box with the ispyeyes logo on the box and the name of the lenses at the bottom next to the barcode.

I couldn’t apply the lenses straight away because they have to soak in the solution for at least 6 hours, so I had to wait a while before I could wear them.

The real difficult part was putting them in my eyes.

There is a video on the ispyeyes website showing you how to apply them and take them out.

Marnie shows you how to apply the lenses safely and to make sure that the lens in a cone shape, so that’s it’s ready to be applied.

I did try using the little applicator tool, but I found it easier using my finger.

You do have to be patient, especially if you’ve never worn them before like me.

After about 20 minutes I managed to apply both of them, and I was so pleased with how they looked.

My eyes did water for a bit at first but that’s normal, it’s just because the lenses still have some of the solution on them.

So this is what they looked like.

I was impressed with them because they were really light on my eyes and didn’t irritate them at all.

And also becuase of how light and bright they made my eyes look, because naturally I have quite dark hazel coloured eyes, so it was a shock at seeing what I look like with grey coloured eyes.

Up close you can see some of the green in my eyes but from afar they are really light and you can’t see any green.

I think that the eye colour is great with my platinum blonde hair, and I’m definetly going to buy another pair of contacts for when I go on holiday in May.

I will definitely need more practice with applying the contacts and taking them out, but already I’m getting better at it, here are some of my tips when applying them.

1. Wash your hands first

2. Make sure that you’re comfortable

3. Have a mirror next to you

4. Use the tweezers to pick them up

5. Do what works for you, using your finger or the applicator

6. Relax

By following these steps you’re sure to apply the lenses safely and correctly, and don’t get flustered! Take all the time you need.

When taking them out I use my nail, because my acrylics aren’t sharp and push the contacts to the outer part of the eye and then pinch it out.

There are different ways to take contacts out but this way works for me and you just need to find what works for you.

Summer Favourites

The sun’s been out so that means one thing, I have to do a Summer favourites!

Summertime is my favourite time of the year and here are some of my must-haves for the season.

  1.  I love Revolution, Vanilla and Coconut Setting Spray.

2. Iconic London Illuminator Drops

This highlight is perfect for the Summer, you can even wear it as a base for your powder highlight to make it really poppin! I like the Illuminator in the shade Original it makes your skin gleam and the gold compliments a smoky eye look.

3.  Charlotte Tilbury Kim KW Lipstick

I am absolutely in love with this nude, it’s the perfect shade to wear in the Summer, it looks beautiful and glides onto your lips like it’s satin. And of course, it’s modelled after Kim Kardashian’s signature nude lip.

4.  Morphe Bronze Goals Palette

This Limited Edition Morphe palette is a must have for your summer makeup, the mixture of shimmer and matte shades are perfect to create a smokey summer look, and the golden shimmers are stunning and I use them a lot when I do my cut crease looks.

0-100 Bronze Glam Transformation (Full coverage)

Who doesn’t want to get that glow? Highlighters are your best friend when it comes to making a glowy bronze look. Everyone loves a perfect bronze eye look with a sharp contour. It isn’t always easy to achieve the ultimate bronze look but I’m going to show you how to go from 0-100 using my all time favourite beauty products.

Let’s get started then!

First, you want to start by using a primer to set everything in place, I like to use the Tarte Brighter Days moisturiser, it’s a perfect base for your foundation and it has glitter reflexes in it so it gives a glowy base for your foundation.

For Foundation I like to use the Urban Decay All-Nighter Foundation in the shade 4.0, it’s a matte foundation, and I absolutely love using matte foundation as opposed to satin, as I like to use a highlighter to make the skin look dewy.

Of course, for concealer, it has to be the Tarte Shape Tape. The is the best concealer I’ve used ever! It is so full coverage and is perfect for highlighting and hiding any imperfections.

Now to achieve the perfect smoky eye look I like to use my Morphe Bronze Goals palette. I’ve only recently purchased this palette but has become one of my Holy Grails, it has beautiful browns and a mix of matte and shimmer shades. It is definitely a summer must have!

So the eyes should look like this.

I have applied a pair of thick wispy lashes, these are Violet Vossm but you can use any lashes, or if you don’t like wearing falsies you can just apply a bit of mascara, but I personally think that lashes are a must have for this look.

Now for bronzer, I like to use my MAC Give Me Sun and my Too Faced Chocolate Bronze. They’re both my favourite bronzers to use when doing a glowy bronze look.

Now my favourite part Highlighter! I like to use my Iconic London Illuminator drops in the shade Original, and the for pressed powder I like to use my Ofra NikkieTutorials highlighter in the shade Glow Goals. Both of the highlights give a beautiful glow to the skin and the gold shade goes well with the eye look.

So this is the finished look, I absolutely love the eyes and how dewy the skin looks, it’s a perfect summer look.

The wig that she is wearing is from Lullabellz in the style Kimmy K.

I also have a video version of this look on YouTube, if you want to watch it please click here.

Kim Kardashian inspired make-up

Inspired by the beauty that is Kim Kardashian, I decided to go all over platinum blonde, don’t get me wrong I am not in any way saying that I look like Kim Kardashian, I wish!

The process of becoming platinum blonde isn’t easy!

As it’s an all-over colour, the bleach has to be applied all over your roots which at the beginning is fine but after a while, your scalp becomes sensitive and itchy.

My hair has taken a while to get to the colour that it is. Starting off with dark black and gradually going lighter, but after 4 times at the salon, my hair had lifted from brown to blonde. My hairdresser was really shocked at how well my hair had taken to the bleach as it can take months or years for some clients to lighten their hair, never mind going all over blonde.

Inspired by the Kardashians and their style, particularly Kim and Kendall. I decided to alter my look inspired by the Kardashians.

Scrolling through Kim Kardashian’s Instagram I wanted to create a Kim K makeup look, using my own makeup products to replicate her flawless nude look.

I decided to recreate this look because the makeup doesn’t look too difficult to mimic, nude looks are my favourite and my new bronze morphe palette has colours perfect for this look.

Fake Huda Beauty Ruby Obsessions review

So I recently decided to buy a fake HudaBeauty palette from eBay to test whether it was just as good as the real thing.

I bought the palette for £3.75 from eBay about a week ago.

The real palette is £25 on Cult Beauty, so there is a huge difference in price.

The packaging is almost the same, the fonts are slightly odd, but the ruby’s on the front are completely different. The real palette has metallic reflexes in the ruby and the colours are bright red, whereas the eBay palette is more of a plum red.

                         Real                                                                        Fake

The first thing that I noticed was that the glitter pigments were completely different.

The Top middle ‘glitter’ pigment is more of a coral as opposed to fuchsia pink.

Also, the middle glitter on the right looks more bronze than deep purple.

The colours in the eBay palette are more bright than the original and don’t look exactly alike.

As you can see from the glitter swatches the colours are completely different.

The real palette (which is the first of every swatch) is much more pigmented, with real glitter reflexes running through the colour.

The fake palette has failed to mimic the glitters in the Ruby obsessions palette, especially the last colour, they look like they are two different palettes.

Again, we can see that the colours aren’t a close match, however, the colours do compliment each other. But I did notice that there was quite a lot of fall out from the fake palette and you needed to go over the colour about 2-3 times to get good pigmentation.

I have used the fake eBay palette on the left eye and the real HudaBeauty palette on my right eye.

At first glance, the eyes don’t look dramatically different, but if you look closely the right eye is more bright than the left. The colours stand out much more than the left eye. The left is much darker and the right was easier to blend the colours.

I decided to use the matte shades in the palette as the glitters didn’t look anything alike and I wanted the eyes to look as similar as possible, so I wanted to create a pink cut crease and use all of the matte colours to see what look I could create.

Overall, I was surprised with how the look turned out, I’m not in any way shocked that the palette isn’t exactly the same, there’s an old saying that I completely agree with ‘you pay peanuts you get monkeys.’

The glitter pigments especially would be difficult to replicate as the HudaBeauty brand are known for their chunky glitters so I’m not surprised that they look nothing alike.

I do think that you could use this palette again for a pink look and as it’s a small palette it can fit in your handbag or makeup bag and you could even take it on holiday.

This is what the overall look turned out like.

I’m pretty happy with the end result.

Most Iconic makeup looks of the 00s

Music from the 2000s has to be my all time favourite, I can remember listening to Beyonce, Ashanti and Mary J. Blige from a young age.

I feel that some of their looks have inspired me today, especially with makeup.

So, I’m going to look back on some of the most Iconic makeup looks in the 00s, and it is going to be a huge throwback!

  1. It’s Britney B**ch.

Britney was an icon back in the early 2000s, with her hits of Toxic and Baby One More Time and quickly becoming the Princess of pop, every girl wanted to be like Britney.

But for me, her most Iconic look has to be the I’m a slave for you, makeup.

Britney is slaying the smoky cut crease look, the turquoise shadow and highlighted brow bone really make her eyes pop, and I love the nude glossy lip.

Obviously, a lot of Britney’s makeup looks are amazing, but for me, I love the eye look in Slave for you.

2. Christina Aguilera

Know we all know Christina for being a bit well Dirrty, but her fashion and makeup over the years has been experimental and pushed the boundaries.

There so many of her look’s that I love; Candyman, Tilt Ya Head Back and Burlesque.

But the all-time glamorous look has to be Moulin-Rouge

This heavy purple smoky eye look with deep cherry red lipstick is certainly memorable.

The diamond necklace and red satin gloves compliment the eyes, I really love the gems either side of her eyes, the look oozes glamour.

3. Beyonce

Queen B has been an icon since her debut days in Destiny’s Child back in the 90s.

Her style has always been prominent and there are so many of her songs that I love.

For me, the most Iconic look has to be in Naughty Girl.

The song opens with her wearing a stunning pink dress with diamonds and suspender tights.

But her smoky eye look and bronzed contour stand out, clearly, B is ahead of the makeup game.

Next shes wearing a beautiful red lace dress, with a fur jacket with a glossy red lipstick.

Both looks are iconic, there are so many makeup looks that Beyonce wears that are stunning.

4. Jenny from the block

Jlo has been a beauty icon since day one, and we all know that her love don’t cost a thing, but I bet her makeup bag does!

Jlo’s makeup look in Jenny from the block is so dewy, her skin is glowy and radiant and her statement red lipstick is bold for the makeup look.

The natural thin brows emphasise the gold shadow and highlight on her inner corner.

What I like about this look is how glowy her skin looks and how JLo is wearing a pair of large hoop earrings and a fur coat to tie the look together.

The makeup is simple but it stands out.

5. Blu Cantrell

Blu Cantrell’s most iconic look has to be from her Breathe music video with Sean Paul, where she is wearing striking blue contact lenses.

Clearly, we can tell by the video that she loves the colour blue.

Her contact lenses are a stunning pale blue, with a pair of lashes even on the bottom lash.

Blue Cantrell’s glossy nude lip compliments the eye-look and makes her skin appear flawless and glowing.

That’s it for my most Iconic 00s makeup looks, please comment below and let me know which makeup look you like the most.
